WSL fixtures: Chelsea host Tottenham in bumper opening weekend

Chelsea will begin their defence of the WSL title against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, as part of a bumper opening weekend to the new season.

The Blues, who are bidding to win a fifth straight domestic crown under Emma Hayes, kick-off with a London derby at home to Spurs on October 1.

Arsenal start against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium, with a total of four games at main stadiums as the WSL bids to capitalise on the interest generated by this summer’s Women’s World Cup. Aston Villa face Manchester United at Villa Park and Bristol City play Leicester City at Ashton Gate.

West Ham begin their season at home to Manchester City.

The top four in the WSL from last season all meet in a blockbuster second weekend of the season, when Chelsea travel to Manchester City and Arsenal are away at Manchester United.

Chelsea will travel to Manchester United on the final day of the season.

Tottenham host Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season on December 17, with the reverse fixtures on March 3.

The Women's Championship begins on August 26, with Crystal Palace hosting Reading, Charlton at home to Sheffield United and London City Lionesses away at Sunderland.
