Wrexham ’s glittering pre-season tour is set for another glitzy friendly against MLS side LA Galaxy.
The Welsh side are set to travel to the US in the off-season following their record-breaking promotion from the National League this term. Wrexham racked up an eye-watering 111 points throughout the season to secure the title and with it automatic promotion to League Two.
It signals a dramatic turnaround for the club following the arrivals of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in Wales. It appears that the two Hollywood stars are using their contacts and connections to line up a few attention-grabbing friendlies.
An official statement from the club confirmed that they will take on LA Galaxy II on Saturday, July 22. The game will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park, kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm PT (3:30am BST).
Speaking about the clash, manager Phil Parkinson said: "We're looking forward to our U.S. Tour as we gear up for our return to the EFL. We've enjoyed meeting supporters who have travelled over from America to visit us this season, and it will be a fantastic occasion to play against American opposition in front of more of these new fans.
“The match against LA Galaxy II promises to be a good, competitive game and will form an important part of our pre-season preparations, along with the fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United that have already been confirmed."
