Wrexham AFC giving away 2,000 limited edition T-shirts to celebrate promotion

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's team Wrexham AFC is giving away 2,000 limited edition T-shirts in partnership with sponsor VistaPrint to celebrate their promotion back to the English Football League after a 15 year absence. 2,000 limited edition t-shirts are being handed out from today.

VistaPrint asked Wrexham AFC to select six local small businesses and organisations that are integral to the community to give away the T-shirts.

Each business will have just over 300 t-shirts – designed by VistaPrint’s creative team. The T-shirts will be handed out by:

Sabine Leveiller, senior marketing director for Europe at VistaPrint, said: “The success of Wrexham AFC has put Wrexham and its local businesses on the global stage. These limited edition t-shirts are a small thank you to the community who have been the heart and soul of the Wrexham’s promotion."

Joan Bellis of Bellis Brothers Farm Shop & Garden Centre said: “We are very proud of our association with Wrexham Football Club especially as Joan Bellis has been a supporter for over 70 years and a hospitality volunteer for more than 30 years. Many football club staff and players, past and present shop with us and are often in our restaurant.

"The whole buzz of pride about Wrexham is felt by our customers and staff young and old. The club’s success has brought a lot of positivity. The success has put Wrexham on the map and – as a result - we have had more visits to our website and more followers on our social media accounts which is always a bonus.”

Mick Pinder, retail manager at Wrexham Visitor Information Center said: “The impact of the success surrounding Wrexham AFC has been noticed throughout the city. There is a positive vibe everywhere and the manner in which the club have been involved with community events has been amazing.

"The whole city seems to be buzzing with excitement and it is impossible not to feel the positivity. The club have been a catalyst for this and the sheer hard work of all involved has to be applauded”.

Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “We are delighted to be partnering with VistaPrint to share our title celebrations with some of our local businesses. We are proud of the role we play in the community and this is a great initiative to shine the spotlight on other businesses within Wrexham.”
