Wrestling trials for Asian Games on July 22-23; Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat may get exemption

NEW DELHI: The ad-hoc committee of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced on Wednesday that the wrestling trials for the Asian Games will take place on July 22 and 23 in the capital.

While the ad-hoc committee has not disclosed the specific format and criteria for the wrestling trials, there is a possibility that current Olympic and world medallists may be exempted from the selection competition. This exemption would grant direct entries to wrestlers such as Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Ravi Dahiya.
