NEW DELHI: With a technical victory over former world champion Zelimkhan Abakarov of Albania on Thursday, young Indian grappler Aman Sehrawat reignited India's hopes of winning a wrestling medal. This secured a spot in the 57kg free-style semifinal at the Paris Olympics.
In the second round, Aman was playing alongside Abakarov with an air of imperiousness. At the beginning of the second round, the 21-year-old Indian player locked his legs and repeatedly rolled him over to earn eight consecutive points and a 12-0 triumph.
