As temperatures continue to drop and winter edges closer, people are looking for cheaper ways to keep warm.
With the cost of living crisis pushing up energy bills, budget-conscious Brits are trying to avoid sticking on the heating. Money saving expert Martin Lewis has long been suggesting that the most efficient way to stay cosy is to 'heat the person not the home.'
Now, shoppers have spotted a clothing item that cleverly features a personal heating system - while still allowing you to remain mobile. Heated gilets and jackets are fast becoming a must-have essential this winter - and Wowcher is selling them for just £12.99.

The discount site has launched a unisex electric heated gilet for 74% less than RRP. It comes with three temperature settings and can be charged using a USB port.
It's available in a range of colours and sizes, with more than 30,000 Wowcher shoppers snapping up the deal so far. Loosely based on the technology used in heated blankets and car seats, these clever outer garments are lined with electronically powered copper heating zones, reports the ECHO.
Operated by a small battery pack or power bank that sits inside the inner pocket, you can charge them up quickly and easily before use. With variable settings heated vests and jackets don’t have to feel too hot or uncomfortable and most come with cleverly designed heating zones that generate warmth on your back, chest and neck areas.
Since the North Face first pioneered their portable heating technology in 2001, some of the biggest outdoor brands in the UK jumped on board the personal heated clothing innovation, with companies such as Regatta, Blazewear and all MyAlps leading the way with pricey but effective heated offerings.
There are some budget-friendly off-brand bargains to be found on Amazon too, like this long sleeve heated jacket that is waterproof, windproof and IP67 rated for just £53.27 or this wallet-friendly heated unisex vest that has fashionable good looks on the outside and intelligent fast heating technology tucked away on the inside. Priced at just £31.99, buying this body warmer would definitely be cheaper than putting the heating on this year.
