Wout Weghorst has reportedly cleared out his Besiktas locker and said goodbye to his teammates ahead of completing his loan move to Manchester United.
Weghorst had emerged as a surprise transfer target for Erik ten Hag, who has approved the move. Weghorst – a compatriot of the United boss and who scored twice for the Netherlands against Argentina in their World Cup quarter-final defeat – is on loan at Turkish club Besiktas from Burnley.
United have been prioritising signing a striker this month after Cristiano Ronaldo – who completed a stunning move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr – left Old Trafford in November. The Portuguese superstar ended his relationship with the Red Devils by mutual consent following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.
