Prediction time. How will Scotland get on in the opening Euro qualifier against Cyprus this afternoon?
MICHAEL GANNON: Steve Clarke’s men will get off to a flier. Cyprus can make life tricky, and they have for us over the years, but this could be a statement performance with a solid 3-0 win.
ANDREW NEWPORT: A decent win. Most of our big names are fit again and on form so we should be marching in full of confidence. A 3-0 victory should do it.
FRASER WILSON: These games just never play out in an entirely comfortable fashion for Scotland. Cyprus have enough experience to ask us questions. It’s likely to be a test of patience but I’ll go for 2-0 Scotland with two second half goals.
Put yourself in Steve Clarke's shoes and give us your starting XI to get Scotland off to a flier?
MICHAEL: Clarke has some big calls to make with new keepers and our two world class left backs available. I’d go for Clark in goal, back three of Hanley, Porteous and Tierney, Robbo and Hickey wing backs, Jack, McGregor and McGinn middle with Adams and Dykes up top.
ANDREW: (3-5-1-1): Gunn; Porteous, Hanley, Tierney; Hickey, Jack, McGregor, McGinn, Robertson; Ferguson; Adams.
FRASER: I’d go back to 3/5/2 for this one: Clark, Hanley, Hyam, Tierney, Hickey, Robertson, Jack, McGregor, McGinn, Christie, Adams.
Barry Ferguson would love to see Billy Gilmour head back to Rangers on loan - would this be a good move?
MICHAEL: It would be a great move for both parties. Billy Gilmour could do with finding a happy home for next season and Rangers would be mad to pass up on that kind of quality if the chance arose.
ANDREW: It would certainly be a great move for Rangers but I agree with Barry, the finances involved even for a loan make it unlikely. As for the wee man, I still think he's got a point to prove in the Premier League, he just needs to find a club willing to give him the minutes.
FRASER: It might just be the right time for Gilmour. His career has stalled a little and regular games at Ibrox where he would see lots of the ball domestically and get a taste of European football could be beneficial. Wages would obviously be an issue though.
Euro Super League Mk.II is back on the agenda but can you see Celtic and Rangers being part of such a set up any time soon?
MICHAEL: We’ve been hearing about this for more than 30 years so maybe it’s best not to hold our breaths. European football will evolve in the coming years but we’re a long way from it.
ANDREW: It's the only way the top two will ever be able to bring in the cash required to close the gap on the Euro giants but there will be so many legal hurdles to overcome - no to mention fan opposition - that I can't see it happening in the near future.
FRASER: Nothing can progress until judges rule on the A22 case later this year. After that? Money talks. But a full season of playing domestically and abroad would present massive logistical and physical problems for our clubs. It’s a long way off yet.
