Only around two-thirds of GP appointments in England were made face-to-face last month. A total of 26.8 million appointments were made at GP surgeries across the country in December, according to new data released by the NHS.
Almost 18.3 million of those took place face-to-face. That’s 68% of all appointments. Meanwhile, a total of 7.4 million (28%) took place over the phone.
However, at some practices, fewer than one in five appointments were classed as being face-to-face in the NHS data. Babylon Gp At Hand Birmingham (which is actually in London) had the lowest percentage of face-to-face appointments of any surgery in England.
