New research has revealed the worst places to live for burgalies in Nottinghamshire. The study, conducted by Confused.com, analysed police figures across the country - specifically burglary rates between 2017 and 2021.
It showed the Nottinghamshire region with the highest rate of burglaries is Bassetlaw, with 2.75 incidents per 1,000 population in 2021 - the good news for residents is this has fallen from 6.14 back in 2019. Next up is Nottingham, averaging 3.09 burglaries per 1,000 people last year. The data shows incidents have fallen steadily year-on-year since 2017.
Nottingham is very closely followed by Ashfield with 3.08 burglaries, again decreasing from 5.45 four years previously. Mansfield reported 2.59 burglary incidents per 1,000 last year, a drop from 4.91 two years before in 2019. Next up is Newark and Sherwood with a rate of 2.51.
