Concern is growing for a missing 17-year-old boy who was last seen eleven days ago. The teenager named Luke was last seen in Manchester city centre on April 9.

Today (Wednesday) Greater Manchester Police published an appeal for help from the public to trace the youngster. Officers say they are 'increasingly concerned for his welfare'.

The youth is said to have links to several areas around Manchester. GMP made the appeal from its main Twitter account.

"Luke's 5ft 8ins tall and is of a slim build. He has long, brown, wavy hair, a black moustache and a northern accent.

"He has links to the #Beswick, #MossSide, #Fallowfield, #Hulme, #Stretford, and #Blackley areas of the city."

Anyone with information about Luke's whereabouts is asked to call GMP on 0161 856 4409.
