Specialist Equipment Solutions, global engineering giant Worley’s plant and equipment facility, is set to open in Grimsby.
The new base has been established to bring the provision in-house, alongside calibration services.
Already operating in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, having been established there to support North Sea operations in oil and gas, SES will bring more than a century’s experience in plant and equipment provision and solutions to the region while acting as the go-to provider for Worley in the area.

Third party businesses and projects will also be able to benefit from a full spectrum of specialist tools for onshore projects, offshore oil and gas maintenance, modifications, hook-up, and decommissioning.
Beth Towsey, business manager at SES, said: “Our new warehouse offers a collaborative working environment that will improve processes, turnaround time, accessibility and set the course for further growth. We are keen to support the renewables sector and expand our expertise into the Energy Estuary, home to the world’s largest offshore wind farm in construction.
“Our focus is to continue to develop our fleet with safety and sustainability in mind to suit Worley’s own business requirements. We are pleased to bring our top of the range equipment and expertise to support our colleagues and beyond in the Humber region.”
It is hoped up to 30 jobs could be created in the long term, replicating the initial Aberdeen operation.
SES, founded in 1909, provides lifting, welding, piping, lighting, cabling, pressure testing, safety, hydraulic, temperature testing, torque and material handling solutions.
It will take up redundant space on Charlton Street, acquired in the £2.5 billion buy-out of Jacobs back in 2019, and should open this month. Jacobs had arrived in Grimsby with the acquisition of LES Engineering.
Worley Field Services delivers projects and provides engineering, procurement, and construction expertise to the downstream, midstream, chemicals, power, as well as mining and mineral industries.
It has been appointed on major infrastructure projects for Drax, Velocys VPI Immingham and Phillips 66 in recent months.
Bruce Marbrow, operations director, at Worley, said: “We’re delighted to welcome SES to Grimsby; the new site will enable us to share our expertise and over 1,000 varieties of equipment that will help customers to improve their assets and prepare them for the next chapter of the energy transition.”
