World's Oldest President Returns After Record Absence as Questions Swirl Over Who Was Running Cameroon

Paul Biya, Cameroon's 93-year-old president and the world's oldest head of state, has returned to Yaoundé after a record 73 days abroad, following weeks of speculation over his health and who was running the country in his absence.

His prolonged stay in Switzerland, first described by his office as a 'brief private stay', had intensified questions about leadership and succession in Cameroon.
