A World War 2 nurse who served on the frontline helping wounded soldiers celebrated her 100th birthday - by leaping out of a plane.
Raymonde Sullivan, from Florida, made a vow to her friends if she ever made it to 100 she would jump out of a plane to celebrate.
However, her friends were sceptical and believed she would not keep her promise.
But on Monday, she defied her critics and didn't break her promise as she told NBC 5 : " I had never done it and I’ve done a lot things in 100 years.
"I thought I must do it while I can.”
The former nurse is originally from England and treated wounded soldiers on the front line during World War 2 and is used to danger and terror.
But even at 100, she still had an appetite to push herself out of her comfort zone.
The 100-year old took the plunge and attached herself to her diving instructor and successfully skydived.
Asked to sum up her experience of the skydive, Raymonde said: "It was scary, I would say it is.”
After keeping true to her word, she was delighted with her achievement but when asked if she would do the skydive again, she said it would be a one of experience.
She laughed: "No, no."
