Larkhall star Graeme Dott hit a 147 maximum break on his way to reaching the final qualifying round for the World Snooker Championships.
The 44-year-old recorded only the second maximum of his career in a 6-1 triumph over Pang Junxu, with the 147 coming in the fifth frame of the match at the English Institute of Sport.
Dott’s last 147 break came 23 years ago at the British Open in 1999.
After his superb feat, Dott told World Snooker Tour: "I don't actually make that many, even in practice.
"I went through a spell when I just turned pro when I was hitting 147s a lot in practice.
I can't remember the last time I had one, even in practice, it would be years ago. So it was really, really good.
"When you pot the last red you're just trying not to bottle it because everything was perfect."
Dott, who won the World Championships back in 2006, will now play Jamie Clarke in his final qualifier as he bids to reach the main tournament at the Crucible, which starts on Saturday.
He now stands to pocket £10,000 for the maximum break bonus in qualifying and if no-one else matches it in qualifying or the main event in Sheffield, he will take home an additional £15,000.
