A new festival is set to take place in a Leeds shopping centre this week, entirely devoted to cleaning. Leeds Trinity shopping centre will be hosting an event featuring cleaning influencers, top tips for cleaning and demos on how best to clean your home inside and out.
The free event, named House of Hacks, will take place at Trinity on Wednesday, October 12. As well as the cleaning gurus, the event will also feature product giveaways, social media stations and the now somewhat infamous 'spin to win' housed inside a washing machine.
In a survey of 2,000 UK adults, the household tasks people say they find most time-consuming and would love to easily solve were revealed as: deep cleaning the oven, cleaning the bathroom, weeding the garden, washing the windows, cleaning up after the dog has been on a muddy walk, and washing up after dinner.

Well known chain Wilko has used the study to devise this festival, using its own cleaning team's knowledge, alongside recommendations from influencers to create 'hacks' for these problems. All will be on show at the event.
Also onsite will be cleaning influencers including This Morning’s Queen of Clean, Lynsey Crombie, real life cleaning demos, cleaning consultations and product giveaways.
As well as helping guests to hack their personal cleaning needs, Wilko will also be asking guests to share their own top tips in exchange for the chance to win cleaning prizes, helping to spread the nation’s housework knowledge even further.
A spokesperson for Wilko said: “Google searches for ‘cleaning tips’ are up 200 per cent – and this, coupled with our love of influencers and real life tips, suggests that housework has never been a hotter topic than right now.
“That’s why we decided to host the House of Hacks; the world’s first event devoted to cracking those cleaning jobs and to pooling real families’ solutions for everyday housework.
“We can’t wait to welcome guests to our event and look forward to not only helping them get every job in the home done, but also collecting their ideas so that we can help others too.”
The House of Hacks, from wilko, takes place at Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre on 12th October 2022, 9am-4pm.
