Glasgow listeners have welcomed the return of the world’s biggest LGBT+ station today, having previously broadcast across the city as part of a trial by Ofcom.
Gaydio provides an ‘LGBT+ perspective’ on news and entertainment, as well as playing the biggest dance and pop hits.
Ahead of their relaunch, a spokesperson for the team said: “Listeners tuning in here in Glasgow will hear our line-up of some of the best-loved presenters from the LGBT+ community.

“Kicking the day off is Paris & Dave on Gaydio Breakfast, serving big bops, huge guests and guaranteed giggles every morning from 7am. Kriss Herbert and Chris Blackmore play the biggest tunes around to get you through the work day and Brett Harris serves chaos with a look at the latest trends and the biggest bops to wrap up your day.
“In the evenings and on weekends, some of the world’s biggest DJs including Purple Disco Machine, MK and Tiesto, take over Gaydio and go in the mix alongside our Resident DJs; Craig Law and Jessie Brooke.”
As well as extending their services, the station are also hosting the first ever Gaydio Pride Awards with Hilton this week. Held in Manchester, the awards are celebrating the efforts being made to bring pride to all corners of the UK.
Speaking of the launch, Kriss Herbert, Network Content Manager and mid-morning presenter said: “It's great Gaydio will be back on DAB+ across Glasgow and more queer people can now tune in for the best in LGBTQ+ entertainment, news and of course music. We look forward to doing even more with the LGBTQ+ community in Glasgow.”
The station relaunched in Glasgow today (January 9) though listeners can also tune in through the Gaydio app. You can find out more here.
