Manchester United are said to be keeping tabs on Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez as one of several potential striker pursuits this summer.
The attacker lifted the World Cup with Argentina last month amid what was a frustrating tournament for the 25-year-old, who failed to score in one start and four substitute appearances.
His domestic form looks more promising, having scored 12 times in 26 matches, of which nine have come in 18 Serie A games. Martinez netted and assisted in October’s 3-3 Champions League draw with Barcelona.

Calciomercato reports United hold an interest in the striker, although a move would not come cheap. With three and a half years still on his contract, Inter would charge €100m (£87.6m) for their striker.
Martinez has netted 86 times in 207 appearances for the Italian outfit, also providing 30 assists. He was a vital cog in the side that lifted the 2020/21 Serie A title, firing home 17 league goals overall.
Meanwhile, Tuttomercato moots United have offered Donny van de Beek in a swap deal exchange for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie. Any such deal would come in the summer with the Dutch midfielder out for the season with a knee injury.
The report claims Van de Beek could be offered alongside cash for USMNT star McKennie, who featured against England at the World Cup last month. The playmaker has scored three times and provided two assists in 20 outings this season.
McKennie joined Juventus permanently in 2021 after an initial successful loan spell from Schalke. In his 95 outings, he has tallied 13 goals and five assists.
