World Cup fan misses his connecting flight to Boston. Then his family launches a 10-day search across two countries

A 65-year-old soccer fan from England was found safe in Barcelona, Spain, after his family lost contact with him for 10 days, according to People. Michael Hewitt, known to friends as “Little Mick,” had reportedly been traveling from England to Boston to support Leeds United F.C. players in the World Cup, and his family launched a search after he failed to reach his final destination.

Hewitt’s brother, Gary Hewitt, wrote about the ordeal on Facebook and later spoke with The Irish Sun about what happened. According to Gary, the family’s last contact with Michael came during a layover in Barcelona in the early hours of June 21.
