AHMEDABAD: Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey lauded India’s bowling unit, commending them for their effort and commitment after India were outplayed by Australia in the final. “One game doesn’t take the credit away from these guys. If you look at the last six-seven months, the way these guys have played, not only the Asia Cup, the build up to the Asia Cup... it’s been exceptional. I can’t fault them for their effort and commitment,” said Mhambrey.
“It’s been a very challenging last couple of years. Obviously, Bumrah missed a major part of it (because of injury). You can see the difference he brings to the side. But his absence gave us opportunity to work on other options, like Mukesh (Kumar), Prasidh (Krishna) and Kuldeep (Sen). These are the guys we could give an opportunity to get a game. I would look at it that way. It’s been fruitful.”
