World Cup: Aussie bowling lynchpin Adam Zampa 'satisfied' after another special show

AHMEDABAD: If the 2023 World Cup will be remembered for the way the likes of Quinton de Kock, Rachin Ravindra, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and David Warner for setting the stage alight with their blazing bats, it will also be remembered for the magnificent comeback staged by Adam Zampa with the ball.

When he was taken to the cleaners by India (0-53 in eight overs at a spin-friendly Chennai) and South Africa (1-70 in 10 overs on a belter at Lucknow), few imagined that five matches later, the Australian leg-spinner would be leading the race of the wicket-takers -19 scalps at a superb average of 17.15. In not a single outing since those initial struggles in the tournament has the 31-year-old leggie picked up less than three wickets, and it's no surprise that Australia have won all the five games in which Zampa has come into his own, after losing the first two.
