NEW DELHI: Brazil continued their strong start to the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Peru on Tuesday, thanks to a late goal from Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.
Following their convincing 5-1 win over Bolivia at home last Friday, Brazil now stand level with arch-rivals Argentina at the summit of the South American qualifying standings, both teams boasting six points.
