FIFA's showpiece tournament kicks off in Qatar and we can but hope that the early teething problems don't continue as the football gets underway. However, what can be assured is that TV coverage in the UK will remain outstanding throughout, as much as you may disagree with every pundit going.
As is the case with every international tournament, the BBC and ITV will share the load in terms of programming which each channel taking it in turns over the group games before the knockouts will then be decided once we have a better idea of the teams involved.
It is, of course, for the vast majority of the world a major TV event, and this feels especially true with the difficulties and challenges of travelling to Qatar. With four games broadcast in the first two rounds of the group stages, with games at 10am, 1pm, 5pm and 7pm, it promises to be a unique occasion.
