Manchester United's supporters lauded Marcus Rashford after he fired the Reds into a 17th-minute lead against Premier League table-toppers Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After weathering an early Arsenal storm, United, who beat the Gunners 3-1 at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture back in September, started to get a grip of the game and took an unexpected lead through a superb strike from Rashford. The England international picked the ball up in a central position and fired a low effort past Aaron Ramsdale from outside the penalty area.
It was an exquisite strike from the in-form forward, who has now scored nine goals in his last nine games since the campaign resumed following the World Cup. Rashford, however, had not scored in an away Premier League game when he had started for more than two years.
