Unai Emery's Villarreal have pulled off a shock result and eliminated Bayern Munich from the Champions League. The Spanish outfit managed to beat Bayern in their home leg a week ago and a 1-1 draw in Munich was enough to secure their semi-final qualification tonight 2-1 on aggregate.
The quarter-final victory means they will meet either Liverpool or Benfica in the next round, with Jurgen Klopp's side currently leading proceedings 3-1. With a home leg to play on Wednesday, you'd expect the Merseyside outfit to get through quite comfortably.
Emery has continued his prolific run in Europe, however. The four-time UEFA Europa League winner is now looking to go one step better by creating history with Villarreal.

But the victory against Bayern has inevitably sparked another debate - this time amongst Arsenal fans. Emery was sacked by the north London club in 2019 after just 18 months in charge, but some - especially those who don't trust the process under Mikel Arteta - think he should've been given more time to make his mark.
It seems as though fans are fairly split on whether it was the right decision to let him go. Some think he's a great coach but he wasn't right for Arsenal. Meanwhile, others think that he was a far better man to choose than Arteta. Let's take a look at some of what's been said on social media site, Twitter.

It's probably still too early to know whether it was the right decision or not to employ Arteta instead of Emery, but for now, it's worth applauding the latter for a phenomenal performance for the Yellow Submarine.
