Would you put your life in Elon Musk‘s hands? Tesla wants you to, despite near-constant videos on social media showing Musk’s cars doing their absolute best to kill their owners. A particularly dramatic example was posted yesterday and shows a Tesla (the exact model is unclear) driving in full self-driving (FSD) mode in what appear to be ideal conditions.
It’s a straight two-lane highway, there are no distractions, no pedestrians, and no junctions. But, for some reason, the FSD decides to suddenly veer into the incoming lane, right into the path of a truck towing a trailer. It’s only the driver’s quick reflexes that save them (and the passengers in the oncoming vehicle) from what would probably be a deadly head-on collision:
