Work has started on 82 affordable houses and flats on the former Virgin Media offices site, off Daleside Road, between Sneinton and Colwick. Affordable housing provider NCHA is working in partnership with GEDA construction, Nottingham City Council and Homes England.
The development will revamp a currently disused area of the city, and provide an opportunity for Nottingham residents to access affordable accommodation close to the city centre.
The development will offer a mix of one-bed flats, and two and three-bedroom family homes, to support the housing need of the area. 57 homes will be available for affordable rent and 25 sold for shared ownership.

The new homes have been designed by NCHA’s in-house architects, Pelham, and will be built to energy rating B.
Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and HR, Councillor Toby Neal, said: “I’m really pleased to see another development from NCHA, bringing this disused site in the city back into use for much-needed new homes.
“NCHA are a key delivery partner for affordable housing in Nottingham and is part of the city’s Homelink Partnership which means that the rent on affordable homes being built on this site will be available for people on the council’s housing waiting list.”
Allan Fisher, Director of Development and Assets at NCHA, said: “We’re really pleased to, once again, be contributing to the regeneration of this area of Nottingham, close to our recently completed Pelham Waterside development. These new affordable homes will ensure those on the lowest incomes can enjoy good quality, secure, energy-efficient homes.”

The scheme forms part of NCHA and Longhurst Group’s Strategic Partnership with Homes England, to deliver affordable homes across the East Midlands and East of England.
