Woolworths’ latest Disney “Ooshie” collectibles have not only captivated Australian children, they have led to a short-term slump in competitor Coles’ sales.

Thousands of shoppers switched supermarkets to collect the plastic figurines, trading them online and in classrooms. Some schools have banned the toys, which can be collected after a customer spends $30, and environmentalists have labelled them “future landfill”.
