Woof! Inside Liberty’s new £500 pet treatments

In truly barking style, London’s most spoilt pets can celebrate news of Liberty opening their mock Tudor doors to a luxury spa and grooming centre.

The London Dog Grooming Company will take bookings from May 3, for all owners looking to please their cats and dogs with a few treatments from an exhaustive new day spa brochure.

Options for achey pups include full body massages based on traditional Swedish techniques (1 hour, £150), and Reiki healing, which Liberty describes as a “method administered by laying on hands or by absent healing and channelling energy to the animal, enabling them to heal faster,” with aims to improve emotional and behavioural issues (1 hour, £150).

Washes, sleek trims and blow drys are all available, plus a few tweakments on the more affordable side. A pet pedicure is £20 (or £50, should participants want the added flair of fresh painted nails), a 15 minute fresh breath treatment will cost £10, while the exfoliating fruit facial is £20.

These small treats pale in comparison to the ultimate £500 spa day experience, though, which comes recommended for adult dogs returning from a stay at the kennels, or the “ultimate preparation for the holiday season.

And the day will go like this. After a VIP check-in, owners attend a consultation to clear up the pet’s history, plus iron out their likes and dislikes. Next will be a general cleanse, and quick ear clean before playtime and a lunchbreak which involves canine caviar – or “Dogviar,” as the menu reads.

A hefty meal leads (naturally) into a siesta, before attendees gently resurrect with a soak, aloe paw pad conditioner, and a full blow out couretsy of one of the professional on-hand groomers.

This expereince of a lifetime comes to a close with a spritz of cologne, Liberty print collar bow, and a Doggie gift bag. Hm. Alright for some.
