The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts higher heating costs for many households this winter, particularly for those using natural gas, which heats approximately 60% of U.S. homes. Despite the expected increase, EIA Administrator Joe DeCarolis reassured that “natural gas prices will remain well below the peaks seen in 2021 and 2022.”
