NEW DELHI: West Indies eked out a nail-biting three-run victory over Pakistan on Sunday in their crucial Group B match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup at Boland Park in Paarl. The narrow win kept the Windies's slender semi-final hopes alive.
It was a last-ball thriller as Shamilia Connell held her nerves to defend four runs off the last ball. Defending 17 runs in the final over, West Indies were in a spot of bother after Pakistan scored 13 runs off the first four balls. Connell clean bowled Aliya Riaz off the penultimate ball, before conceding just a leg bye off the last ball.
