Arsenal have been handed a tough group in the Women’s Champions League group, as Chelsea go up against Real Madrid.
There are three English clubs in the group-stage of the competition this season, after Manchester City and Arsenal both came through qualifying.
The reward for Arsenal is an intriguing Group C, as they face Bayern, Juventus and Norwegian side Valerenga.
Chelsea, meanwhile, face another two blockbuster fixtures against familiar opposition. They will take on Real Madrid, who they beat in last season’s competition, as well as FC Twente and Celtic.
Defending champions Barcelona are in Group D, along with City, St Polten and Hammarby, while Lyon, who were beaten in May’s final, will also be confident of progressing.
The French club, who have been crowned European champions a record eight times, go up against Wolfsburg, Roma and Galatasaray.
Dates for each fixture will be confirmed on Saturday morning, but the opening round of matches will be played on October 8 and October 9.
The top two sides in each group will progress through to the quarter-finals.
