Nine people were killed and 25 others were wounded — including a 5-year-old boy — in shootings over the weekend across Chicago.

  • The boy and a man were shot while traveling in a car Sunday evening in Rogers Park on the North Side. The man, 25, was driving in the 7600 block of North Paulina Street when another car pulled up around 5 p.m. and someone fired shots, police said. He drove himself to St. Francis hospital, where he is in good condition.
  • A woman was killed and a man was wounded outside the Morgan Park district police station Sunday night. The two were in a car on South Vincennes Avenue near Monterey Avenue when a gray Chrysler began chasing them and someone inside fired several shots, police said. The driver, a 42-year-old man, attempted to get away and drove toward the police station, police said. He made it to the sally port of the station when the other car pulled up and someone fired several more rounds. The man was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The woman, 46, was shot in the head and was taken to the same hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

  • Saturday afternoon, two men were fatally shot in the South Chicago neighborhood. About 3:15 p.m., responding officers found the men lying in the street in 8300 block of South Paxton Avenue. One man was identified as Cinque Dunn, 20, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police said the second man was 32.
  • Early Saturday, a 26-year-old man was found dead in the 2900 block of South Poplar Avenue in Bridgeport with a gunshot wound to the head.
  • About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot to death while on a front porch of a home in Chatham on the South Side. A resident of the home found Kenneth Rufus with multiple gunshot wounds after hearing “a loud disturbance” from outside around 1:30 a.m. in the 500 block of West 87th Street, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.
  • About 9:20 p.m. Friday, a 50-year-old man was killed in a restaurant in the 2700 block of West Division Street in East Garfield Park, police said. Someone outside the restaurant shot him through the window, striking him once in the neck. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died.
