Woman with 'crippling anxiety' touched by Uber Eats driver's kind gesture

A woman struggling with 'crippling anxiety' has shared the sweet response she received from an Uber Eats driver after ordering a meal.

Taking to TikTok, Becca shared a handwritten message she'd left for the man named Garnell, in a bid to explain why she'd ordered the takeaway meal.

The note, fastened to a tip, addressed the driver and said: "Thank you so much. I'm having crippling anxiety and it's hard for me to leave my house sometimes."

Concluding her candid message with a little illustrated love heart, Becca added, "I really appreciate you".

Incredibly, the driver left her a sweet response - filling everyone with hope and going viral as others shared random acts of kindness they had encountered.

He replied on the app: "Thank you Rebecca! I'm sorry you have to go through that! I hope today is a good day!"

Elaborating further in the comments section, Becca - who describes the vid as a "modern-day love story" - explained that she suffers from "biblical night terrors and severe panic" after having endured two years of physical abuse, remarking that, "healing from trauma is the hardest thing".

Many of Becca's followers could relate to her anxiety issues all too well, as well as the many practical implications of feeling unable to leave the house due to panic attacks.

One empathetic person noted that "a little love and appreciation both ways goes so far", while another wrote that they "wouldn’t wish anxiety upon anybody".

Others opened up about how anxiety had impacted their lives, with one woman writing: "I was trapped on the interstate for 9 hrs over 8 years ago during an ice storm and I still have panic attacks when I leave my house sometimes".

According to a post published by online health resource Healthline, agoraphobia can be defined as "a type of anxiety disorder that causes people to avoid places and situations that might cause them to feel trapped, helpless, panicked, embarrassed or scared".

This post continues: "People with agoraphobia often have symptoms of a panic attack, such as a rapid heartbeat and nausea, when they find themselves in a stressful situation. They may also experience these symptoms before they even enter the situation they dread".

Sometimes, cases may be so severe that those who suffer from it "avoid doing daily activities, such as going to the bank or grocery store, and stay inside their homes most of the day".
