Woman who travelled from Ireland missing for four weeks after leaving Stornoway hotel

A woman who has been missing for nearly a month after travelling to Scotland has sparked a police search.

Susan Forde left the Republic of Ireland to venture overseas in March 2022. Last month, the 56-year-old made her way to Scotland, visiting Edinburgh before journeying to the Isle of Lewis.

Susan was last spotted leaving the Caladh Inn Hotel in Stornoway at around 5.12pm on Sunday, October 16, and heading towards the town centre.

It was from there that she disappeared - and there have been no sightings or contact from her since. Susan's family say they are "understandably worried" and are desperate to have her home safe.

A search bid is now underway, as concerns mount for Susan's welfare.

Susan was wearing an orange top, a dark-coloured jacket with white lining, blue trousers or jeans, walking boots and a cream/grey coloured tammy hat when she vanished. She was also wearing spectacles and carrying a backpack.

Anyone who has seen Susan or has any information as to where she might be is urged to reach out to Police Scotland, quoting incident number 1262 of November 2, 2022.
