On Tuesday, April 4, it was confirmed that the woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann was not the missing British toddler.
DNA test results were revealed by medium and private investigator, Dr Fia Johansson, who had been helping Julia Wendell to find answers about her past.
The young woman's parents refused to take part in the test, so Julia’s biological origin remains unknown, however, it did show she is of Polish descent, with no links to Britain or Germany.

Taking to Instagram, Dr Johansson confirmed to the world: "Julia’s test results are back. We finally know the reality.
"Although it is impossible to tell for sure without the parent’s DNA results on either side, the test results speak to the origins of Julia’s root.
"The test results revealed that she is 100 per cent of Polish heart, with negligible influence from Lithuania, and Russia.
"The DNA test results did not show any connection to British or even German roots.
"This story is much more complicated than a simple girl from a small town in Poland making a claim to get attention.
"She truly believed what she was saying, and with so many questions about her childhood it is easy to understand where she was coming from.
"What is amazing is parent’s refusal to resolve this nagging question for Julia. A simple DNA test by parents would have resolved so many questions for Julia."
She went on to confirm that Julia has since returned to the care of her father in Poland, after learning that she was not the young girl who disappeared in Portugal in 2007.
"In any case, upon the revelation, she decided to be back with her dad. I personally wish her well," Dr Johansson wrote.
"Also in connection to Maddy’s case there is still the questions of Peter Nay which needs to be pursued, among other questions."
Although the young woman has no links to the missing child, some of the information she has come forward with over the past few weeks will give investigators new routes to take in the Madeleine McCann case.
A closing word from Julia will likely be published over the coming weeks as Johansson confirmed: "I prepared a short interview with Julia before leaving US. She broke down in tears about her past. It is a summary of our journey together and what we learned."
