Woman who claims she could be Madeleine McCann talks of 'achieving big goals' in US

A young woman who flew to the US after claiming she might be Madeleine McCann has spoken of "achieving big goals". Julia Wendell gained attention online after claiming she believed she could be the missing British child who disappeared during a family holiday to Portugal in 2007.

The 21-year-old Polish national is currently waiting for the results of three DNA samples and a genetic test, the Daily Star reports. Private investigator Dr Fia Johansson travelled to the US with Julia and has been posting updates on her Instagram page, with one of her latest posts featuring a short message from Julia.

Writing on her story, she attributed a quote to Julia: "Consider this your reminder, you are amazing and can achieve big goals." Another message, also alongside a picture of Julia, read: "Thankyou for reminding me what butterflies feel like".

It comes after Dr Fia Johansson shared footage of the young woman singing and playing the piano, stating she brought her sister to tears. "She played for my sister, and she cried," Dr Johansson captioned the clip.

It has also been reported that Julia has been threatened with legal action by a man she claims abused her when she was a child. A lawyer representing the man has reportedly demanded she stops associating his client with the unsolved mystery of the missing child.

"I call on you to immediately stop the grave violation of his personal rights – defaming him, publishing in the media a verdict from many years ago and implying that he has something to do with the missing Madeleine McCann," the lawyer said in a letter obtained by RadarOnline.com.

"If you do not stop such actions – I will file a lawsuit against you for violations of personal rights and consider further steps on the criminal level."

The later was dated dated March 2, 2023, and comes after Julia told private investigator Dr Fia Johansson the man had abused her when she was seven years old. She also claimed he looked similar to someone who was previously a suspect in Madeleine's disappearance.

Julia said her grandmother told her "something" about the case of the missing Brit after she discovered a photo of the man who allegedly abused her in her house.
