Woman suffers broken jaw during serious assault at Johnstone birthday party

A woman reportedly suffered a fractured jaw during a serious assault in Johnstone at the weekend.

It is understood the 30-year-old victim was attending a birthday party in Poplar Avenue when she was attacked around 5.30am on Sunday morning.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

Police have been reviewing footage from CCTV cameras and carrying out door-to-door enquiries as part of their probe.

A spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an assault at a property on Poplar Avenue in Johnstone around 5.30am on Sunday, November 20.

“A 30-year-old woman was taken for treatment following the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
