Woman suffers broken arm after large Alsatian pounces on her on Scots road

A Scots woman who suffered a broken arm following a terrifying dog attack has called on the police to take action on the "irresponsible" owner.

Abbie Scott, from Edinburgh, was heading towards the Scotmid on Drum Brae South in the city when the incident happened at around 6.30pm on Monday. The 26-year-old said that she noticed a man playing with his large Alsatian on the path but thought nothing of it and continued on her route.

As reported by Edinburgh Live, she then, out of the corner of her eye, spotted the dog looking at her before it pounced and bit down on her arm, with the attack causing a "rare" spiral fracture that could require surgery. Abbie says that the owner, who was described as a 35-40-year-old man, seemed unfazed by the attack and did not make sure that she was okay before a friend came to take her to hospital.
