A woman said she was left shocked after being handed a card with £10 inside by a stranger while walking down the street.
Tammi Bennett was approached by a stranger last week and handed an envelope before being told to "have a lovely day".
When Tammi opened the envelope later, she found £10 note inside with a handwritten note explaining why the stranger had given it to her.
The woman had signed the card with "Jason's mum" rather than leaving a name, saying that her son had died from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) at the age of 25, three years earlier, and asking Tammi to use the money to honour her son.
She wrote: "My son loved birthday cake, actually he liked most cakes. Please buy a cake and enjoy it with your family, cake is good any day of the year, not just on a birthday.
"Family is so important, spending time with family is such a precious GIFT!"
Afterwards, Tammi shared a photo of the card to her Facebook profile, saying that she had been moved by the woman.
"I was having a crap day today, so I pick my cousin up from school just to get out and walk somewhere and a stranger came up to me and handed me this card," Tammi said.
"Really made me emotional and made me realise not everyone knows how lucky they are to have family who they can spend time with."
Tammi honoured Jason's mum's wishes by buying a cake and sharing it with her own family, like the card said, uploading a photo of a cake in a tin tray with different coloured jellybeans, sprinkles, and white icing.
She added: "It's amazing what this lady is doing, keeping his memory alive by doing such a selfless deed to random people like me on the street, really cheered me up."
Tammi and her family also wished Jason a happy 28th birthday while they enjoyed the cake.
