A woman has been stabbed and taken to hospital after a fight broke out between a group of youths.
Merseyside Police confirmed that officers were called to Abbott Drive in Bootle at around 1.30pm today (April 4) to reports that four youths were fighting and a woman had been stabbed. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the woman, who police have said is in her 20s, was taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police officers remain at the scene where a cordon is currently in place.

People are asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm officers are currently in attendance in Bootle this afternoon, Tuesday 4 April. At around 1.30pm, we received a report of four youths fighting on Abbott Drive, and one woman was stabbed with a knife.
"Ambulance attended and has taken her to hospital with injuries which are not life threatening. Officers are currently at the scene to establish the circumstances and a cordon is in place.
"We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 482 of 4 April."
