With Boxing Day following the most festive day of the year, it's still an equally special day to spend surrounded by your closest friends and family. While people tuck into another big feast for dinner with board games on the horizon tonight, it acts as a second Christmas Day for many.
However, there are a few people out there who are already in discussion about taking their Christmas decorations down - with some jumping the gun already. Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, a woman has sparked a debate on when is best to take your decorations down - and nobody can agree.
Captioning the post, the woman wrote: "When do you take down the Christmas decorations?"
Sharing their own advice, the Mumsnet user explained: "I am always itching to do it on Boxing Day. I don't, but I want to.
"I usually last until New year's Eve, but I think this year has felt really unChristmassy and I want everything taken down now!
"I will keep it up for the kids but does anyone else just want it all put away?" They questioned.
Flocking to the comments, Mumsnet users were in a hot debate - with one person shockingly admitting that they've started the process of moving the items to the loft already.
They wrote: "Ours are half down, we're going away for New Year tomorrow and I don't want to get back in January and still have them up."
A second user admitted: "Was thinking tomorrow."
A third claimed: "I've been out today, already seen a few xmas trees by the bins."
"Mine have been up since the first, they will be taken down tomorrow, I don't like them up at new year," a fourth added.
On the other hand, a selection of users followed the 12th-night rule - while others were keen to have them down immediately after New Year.
One person said: "2nd of January here."
Another agreed: "2nd January. We're all back to work on the 3rd, so I want it done by then."
Someone else said: "Up first weekend of December, down first weekend of January."
A shocked user penned: "Good grief. It's only Boxing Day. Bit too early to have them put away tbh. But each to their own and all that!"
