For the month of June, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust have been encouraging people to do something wild each day to connect with nature and improve their mental health. Alice Louise has been taking part in the 30 Days Wild challenge for the past three years and has seen a positive impact.
Alice, who is also known as @alicelouisenature on Instagram loves how educational the scheme is for herself and others. She has been making sure she does something outdoors with nature everyday of the month and has found joy in her own garden.
Alice said: “Back in the first lockdown, family members created a small wildlife pond to help with my mental health. There are two frog visitors we get pretty regularly, and they've become really relaxed when I'm taking photos.”

Not that you would be able to tell now with her photography, but Alice used to have a phobia of frogs. She added: “Frogs used to be a huge phobia of mine, but I've slowly overcome that and now I absolutely love them. The pond has a hibernaculum built using the Wildlife Trust guide and I believe that helped them over winter.”
