A woman has shared her experience on TikTok of what she has described as the "best date night" in Bristol that requires diners to eat in the dark. Online events marketplace Yuup has released a tell-all video on Dinner in the Dark describing what it's like to eat a three-course dinner blindfolded.
Dinner in the Dark at Lost and Found on Clifton Triangle occurs every fourth Wednesday of the month and offers a unique tasting experience allowing diners' taste buds to take centre stage. The bespoke three-course menu costs £41.95 per person, including a drink, with the choice of meat, vegetarian, pescatarian or vegan options. The meals are colour-coded and diners with allergies can inform the restaurant in advance.
In the TikTok video, the woman says: "It's the weirdest sensation to begin with and we did struggle to find out mouths at first, but this was such a cool and unique experience. The perfect idea if you're looking for something a bit different."

The video shows the diners being led to a separate, dimly-lit area in the restaurant on Queens Road. Lost and Found is part of a small UK-wide restaurant group based around mythical woman professors, with the Bristol site-centred space and the Zodiac.
The restaurant and bar first opened in 2018 and has become a popular destination for bottomless brunch, cocktails and afternoon tea as well as its Dinner in the Dark events. The whole blindfolded dinner experience lasts approximately two hours and is suitable for those who are 18 and above.
Yuup's video on TikTok has clearly caught the attention of those looking for unique date ideas, having amassed almost 380k views and 14.6k likes. Many commenters were quick to associate the experience with a scene in Richard Curtis' 2023 rom-com About Time when the two main characters meet for the first time at a dinner in the dark event.
Another TikTok user joked: "My palate of a child says no." One person added: "Sorry but mine would end up all over the floor. I miss my mouth 50 per cent of the time not blindfolded."
