The grout between tiles can be one of the hardest things in the home to clean – especially for those who find it difficult to get down and scrub the floor. Thankfully, social media users have been sharing simple solutions that are cheap, easy and leave tiles looking “good as new”.
The tried-and-tested method was praised on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, where people often advise each other on the best ways to do household cleaning tasks. One woman recently posted in the group to ask for the best tools and products to clean grout as she was “unable to get down on my hands and knees due to injury”.
In the comments, she added that she had already tried steam mopping but it did little to remove the dirt between tiles on her floor. She was therefore looking for a “good grout product that won't damage tiles”, the Mirror reports.

Thankfully, other members of the group were full of suggestions, with some people recommending a telescopic grout cleaning brush. Others suggested Astonish mould and mildew cleaner, which can be bought from Asda for £1.19.
“Astonish mould cleaner is great. It's in a green spray bottle. Just spray it, leave it for 20 minutes then rinse off, job done,” one person said. And another agreed, commenting: “Astonish mould and mildew! I’ve just done mine and they’ve come up like new.”
Other people suggested HG grout cleaner, with one person writing: “HG grout cleaner and a brush. It’s hard work but restored the grout to its original colour ( near enough).”
Another person proposed a solution that requires no special products, commenting: “Scrub it with a broom that has stiff bristles. Then rinse and dry with a mop.” Someone else advised: “Get in the professionals. It will only need doing once - it's worth it.”
