Woman says husband is 'disgusting' for not flushing the toilet during the night

A woman has been left fuming by her husband - who refuses to flush the toilet when he goes during the night.

The man explained his reasoning is because wasting the water is bad for the environment, but his wife has been annoyed by repeatedly finding stale urine in the toilet when she gets up on a morning.

The wife then went on to explain on Mumsnet that whenever she gets up to use the toilet at night, she will always flush - and can't understand why her husband doesn't do the same, dubbing him unreasonable.

The Mirror reports that the woman explained that she does not want to budge and she wants her husband to start flushing in the night. In the forum, the Mumsnet poster wrote: "My husband always goes to the toilet (No.1) in the night and doesn’t flush.

"I’ve asked him repeatedly to please flush as it doesn’t wake me or the children up and I find it really disgusting to find wee in the toilet in the morning."

She adds that he does this for environmental reasons and it is not just because it might wake people up. "Me and the children rarely go to the toilet in the night but on the rare occasions we do I always flush after," she said.

"He says this wakes him up and I’m being unreasonable. I don’t want to budge and think he’s being unreasonable."

In response, many have been torn by the post as some say he should flush in the night while others agree with the husband's stance. One person, wrote: "I think if it doesn’t wake anyone up then he should flush," while another, added: "I'm with you, it's disgusting to come across someone else's wee."

A third, stated: "It’s a ridiculous waste of water to flush away every wee, and much worse if you’re the kind of person who feels compelled to flush a load of chemical cleaning products each time too."
