A Sydney woman has refused to take responsibility for murdering her former partner, a court has been told.

Prosecutor Sean Hughes said the Crown could not accept Jackline Sabana Bona Musa, 47, has shown remorse for killing 31-year-old Payman Thagipur.

"She may be sorry now that it happened, but she never accepted responsibility for it," Mr Hughes told the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday.

"To the extent that the offender may be sorry that all of this happened, it is of little or no use."

Mr Thagipur had answered the door in his underwear with another woman at his home in June, 2020 moments before Musa killed him with her Toyota Kluger in the car park of his Wentworth Point apartment block.

Musa was found guilty of murder by a jury in December.

Justice Richard Button told the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday that Musa was "very distressed" during her trial.

Musa also suffered from psychological conditions she wasn't aware of, the judge added.

"Until this tragedy happened, she suffered with them without knowing that they were things that one could get help for in Australia," he said.

Defence barrister Madeleine Avenell used the word "neediness" to describe how Musa related to Mr Thagipur.

Musa had allegedly showed up at his home after he ignored her attempts to contact him by phone and had hidden her entry to surprise him.

Justice Button suggested that her psychological condition could have contributed to this behaviour.

Musa had a "terrible upbringing" having grown up in a "war-torn country", he said.

"Her life might have been completely different ... when relationships start to cool or sour, she might have simply said, 'That relationship has ended so be it'," the judge said.

The Crown did not accept these suggestions.

"People absent from these conditions commit these offences," Mr Hughes said.

Musa will face court on March 10 for sentencing.
