Woman's incredible response to husband who says she does 'nothing' on maternity leave

Maternity leave is a time of many firsts and countless hurdles, from changing nappies to coping with sleepless nights, all while taking care of your newborn and yourself as best you can. It's therefore understandable that many new mums wouldn't be happy at all with this exhausting, and often very challenging period, being described as some sort of extended lazy holiday, even in jest.

One miffed woman has now shared her perfect response to her husband's joke that she does nothing all day while off on maternity leave, and decided to respond with a lighthearted yet firm ticking off. A number of other tired parents could relate all too well.

Taking to TikTok, mum Maisha explained: "My husband made a joke that he thinks I sleep all day whilst he's at work and I'm doing nothing. So I sent him a play-by-play of what I do in a day."

In the vid, Maisha, who goes by the username @maishatok, showed how she proceeded to bombard her husband with every single thing she did that day, including washing bottles, scrubbing the sink and cooker, and cleaning baby Noah's 'boogies'. Each of her updates was accompanied by a pic, driving the point home further.

In one message, she announced that she'd had her 'first sip of water for the day' at 12.15 pm, while in another she showed how she was dancing with Noah to get him to stop crying.

Maisha's apologetic husband eventually said he'd 'got the point about 100 pics ago', with her messages clearly having done the trick. The vid has since clocked up 147.9K likes and counting, and many mums announced they'd be 'jumping on this trend ASAP'.

One impressed follower wrote: "Omg I’m going to do this to my partner tomorrow whilst he's at work."

Another commented: "Love this! I once wrote step by step what I did one day off on maternity with our daughter along with our three-year-old son."
