Dating can be challenging at the best of times but spare a thought for one woman who has revealed how her date with a guy in Belfast took a very unexpected turn.
The woman, known on Twitter as Mariè, has shared an account of her date in the city which ended on a sour note but has certainly got people talking.
She recounted how when she refused to go home with the man after their date, rather than accepting her decision he instead chose to pick a fight with another guy outside.

Mariè tweeted: "Just got back from a date with Irish guy in Belfast… we went to the pub, he drank 7 beers and barely said a word the entire time.
"Then he tried to makeout with me and when I wouldn’t go home with him he picked a fight with some guy outside?? Is this normal?????"
The tweet has been viewed over 4 million times and gained multiple retweets and responses including over 45,000 likes.
And it has attracted many brilliant replies too!
One guy tweeted: "You mean to tell me that not only did you meet a man that was ready to listen, but also fight for you too??"
Another woman added: "I'm impressed he could afford 7 rounds of drink in Belfast to be fair! Have you seen the prices? #notions."
"When your date will not try and then he hits a guy, that's amore," said a third.
A fourth person added: "Good listener, not a big drinker, affectionate, stands up for himself.. keeper."
"Leaving a place without letting people know you're leaving = Irish goodbye. Drinking 7 beers, barely saying a word, trying to go for a kiss, and then fighting a stranger = Irish hello," a fifth said.
