A woman was taken aback by the actions of a stranger during a shopping trip to Iceland.
Hazel Roberts Bryan, 46, was struggling in the South Road supermarket in Waterloo when the man in his 30s or 40s came to her aid before promptly vanishing.
The kind stranger stood behind Hazel where she was letting people with fewer items pass her in the Iceland checkout queue.

After missing a delivery slot for the day, Hazel worried how she'd manage to lug her haul back home on the bus.
Jumping to her rescue, the man insisted on paying for a taxi to get Hazel and her shopping home, despite her refusal.
The Seaforth resident, who was grappling with four shopping bags and weighed down by milk, said: "He just turned around to me and he said, 'If you wait a few minutes, I'm getting cash back, I'll get you a taxi'.
"I went, 'I'm alright', and he said, 'Please just wait for me'.
"Then he gave me the tenner and then he just shot off down the street before I could get his name.
"I've never seen him before in my life.
"I just wish he'd given his first name even. He was just so quick that he'd given it to me and then he just vanished."
She added: "I felt really, really good because I like trying to help people myself in small ways.
"A few minutes before, I was letting everyone go with baskets because I had a big trolley full.
"I just thought that, with me doing something nice, something nice has come back in a way."
Hazel posted about the Friday, February 11 encounter on social media, hoping that the man will see her message and others will be encouraged to be similarly kind.
She said: "I'd just like to say to him how appreciative I am. He didn't have to do it. He was going out of his way.
"If I ever see him again, I'd like to return the favour.
"A random act of kindness can make anyone's day."
